This is an excellent, perfectly-printed second edition print signed by the artist and supplied mounted on cream card and ready to frame. This is the last print of 'Greengrocers' which will be available for sale. It is a fine example which shows the design, engraving and observational skills of James Bostock. It forms a touching study of a greengrocer's shop typical of the late 1950s, and offers within the print, several touching cameos in a style that has elements of realism, caricature and humour in a recognisable style. This print is often referred to, and is probably the most significant wood engraving from the collection.
